An invitation to the world of art using the most exciting tool available, Virtual Reality. Louvre Abu Dhabi commissioned FGreat to create 3 VR films for its innovative exhibition Manga Lab in 2019.

Manga Lab was the first-ever space designed by the museum for teenagers and young adults. To engage with this audience, 3 immersive experiences based on Japanese paintings were created. Using Oculus Go headsets, the young viewers are taken inside a selection of Japanese artworks, recreating a 360-degree virtual world. The VR Space was chosen the high point of this exhibition dedicated to Japanese culture and the art of Manga.

The audio mixes were created and designed as 3rd order ambisonics using the FB spatial workstation. The spatial audio helped to create better immersion for the experience. On the videos shown here, a downmix stereo version can be heard.
