Something strange is happening at Scarborough Spa and the caretaker just doesn’t know what to do. Water is springing up everywhere - taps are leaking, pipes are bursting, there's puddles on the floor and there’s a watery whisper coming from somewhere…

From the producers of much loved show, Grue, SPRiTES is a playful and beautiful immersive experience for families. Featuring a performer and an enchanting new world to explore, families will discover magic in Scarborough’s spa waters this Christmas.
SPRiTES is a new show in development and we need your feedback. We’d love to bring a larger version back to Scarborough in the future. Come and be the first to see it.

Sound Design for a Family Experience:
In collaboration with the creative team, I established the sonic scenes to enhance the immersive family experience. The sound design includes:
Atmospheric Base: A realistic yet mysterious venue ambience, blending the sounds of an operational space (distant whistling staff, metallic echoes, cleaning machinary) with organic elements (dripping water) to create anticipation.
Main Space Soundscape: An enchanting musical score designed to be both calming and subtly mysterious, drawing children into the central narrative space.
Narrative Vignettes: 3x spot scenes to underscore the recent activity of the 'SPRiTES,' including: a lively 'flight case party,' an animated 'moving desk' sequence, and a warm 'den/campfire' scene.
SPRiTE movements: twinkling, zipping and whooshing energy sounds that are triggered by the actors as they capture the SPRiTEs using sleight of hand and LEDs to suggestthe SPRiTEs being collected.
Climactic Resolution: An uplifting and cinematic finale with powerful sound effects and music to provide a satisfying, memorable conclusion as the SPRiTES get released by the actor and families who helped capture and free them during the experience.
