A five-part first series audio podcast that was recorded and produced entirely remotely during the Covid 19 pandemic. Using the pro version of cleanfeed.net we captured remote voice recordings using consumer-grade devices like phones, tablets and laptops already owned by the interviewees. Some newer devices had better microphone hardware than other ones but overall we were happy with the end result.
Paul sent out all interviewees a prompt question sheet and once the recordings were done, they were transcribed by an online audio-to-document AI service. Paul then used the raw transcriptions to edit together a script from which I then followed during the audio edit.
Sound design was created where appropriate, mainly on the introductions. Ambient sound beds were designed to add interest and curiosity during Paul's hosting narration. Music was composed that fitted the positive vibe of the 'new idea' and 'new connections' themes in a relaxed jazz/downtempo style. This was used as the audio branding for the intro and outro sections on each episode, except where we had a guest musician on episode 5.
