Mixing real-life action with gameplay and animation, the aim was to showcase the full power of the PS Plus; with online multiplayer, exclusive savings and monthly games – only for PS Plus members.


CGI built scenes are inspired by games available for the PS4. These were brought to life sonically with ongoing development of the SFX. The supplied music track stems were edited and mixed to best fit the duration of the film. Finally the voice over was mixed, ducking and reducing the music level slightly whenever the voice was active. This is a common technique when the music suits being upfront but you can’t risk masking the voice from being clearly audible.

In order for the sound design to retain its power, a dynamic EQ was used on the music bus (sidechained from the SFX bus). This was configured so low frequences in the SFX, dynamically trigger the low cut EQ on the music. This temporally reduces low frequences in the music, avoiding frequency clashing from both SFX and music. It gives the SFX low frequency precedence but only on key moments where it is strongest.
