DualShock 4 Gets a Sonic Upgrade: Theming the Controllers Through Sound
Sounds that Match the Style: This project involved creating unique sound design experiences for each of the two new DualShock 4 controller colors: Blue Camouflage and Copper.
Blue Camouflage: Military Might
Theme: Inspired by Metal Gear Solid, the Blue Camouflage controller evokes a sense of military tension and stealth.
Soundscape: Textural sounds, reminiscent of morphing camouflage, are layered with pulsing synth to create a feeling of anticipation and suspense.
Copper: Steampunk Symphony
Theme: The Copper controller channels an industrial and steampunk aesthetic.
Soundscape: The sound design builds to a crescendo of metallic mechanical sounds, perfectly capturing the industrial spirit of the controller's design.
Matching Sound to Style: By carefully crafting these unique soundscapes, the project ensures that the audio experience complements and enhances the visual themes of each new DualShock 4 controller.
