This project, a bold and experimental fashion film by LOVERBOY, takes viewers on a captivating journey through the brand's spirited essence. Sound design plays a pivotal role in amplifying the film's unique aesthetic.
A Collaborative Foundation:
Bespoke Piano Score: The soundscape begins with a bespoke classical piano recording by Jacob Bird, serving as a foundational element. This beautiful piece sets the stage for the rest of the sonic experience.
Evolving Energy:
Energetic Transformation: Building upon Jacob's dark piano piece, the soundtrack progressively evolves through five distinct stages. This layered approach adds energy, space, and dramatic contrast to the film, propelling the narrative forward.
Sonic Attitude: Sound design elements, including manipulated noise and a deep sub-bass, are meticulously interwoven with the music. This combination creates a powerful and aggressive soundscape that perfectly reflects the film's avant-garde style.
Aural Exploration: Strategic tempo changes throughout the film highlight different sections, each featuring 3D scanned characters adorned in Charles Jeffrey's designs. To further amplify the energy and build towards a thrilling crescendo, elements from experimental music genres like jungle (vocal time-stretching) and drum and bass are incorporated.
