A creative adventure through the digital guise of the spirited fashion brand LOVERBOY.

An experimental film which threads the radical possibilities of cutting edge technology with a cerebral study of fashion and identity. We merged original illustrations from Charles Jeffrey with photogrammetry and CG animation, resulting in a fashion film that embraces the brand’s queer spirit.

The creative audio brief involved a collaboration using a bespoke classical piano recording by Jacob Bird, as a foundation to create a new musical soundtrack.

Since the film is bold, energetic and avant-garde, a soundtrack based around Jacob's dark piano was developed in 5 stages, driving the whole film forward with plenty of energy, space and contrast. Sound designing noise combined with more musical elements like a deep sub-bass coupled with an aggressive production style creates a strong sonic attitude.
Various tempo changes throughout the 1-minute piece help us focus on each of the sections, with 3D scanned characters wearing Charles's clothes. Elements of harder and more experimental music like jungle's vocal time-stretching effect and drum and bass drum breaks; were incorporated to hype the sound and build the crescendo.
