Building a Sonic World:
- Sound Design for Reality: The sound design builds a scene-by-scene sonic narrative, capturing the sounds of daily life in a war-torn country. This immersive approach establishes a sense of realism and allows viewers to connect with the challenges faced by the boy and his family.
- A Touch of Tradition: The musical score complements the sound design without overwhelming it. Minimalist and authentic, it reflects the strong emotions experienced by the boy and his family, while leaving space for the sound design to shine through. Instruments like the Shakuhachi, Koto, Yalli Tambur, Duduk, Qanun, and an Eastern Dulcimer were utilised to create a musical tapestry that resonates with the film's cultural context.
